Excerpt Many opinions have been taught on this subject without a proper scriptural basis. In the course of this study, I shall endeavour with the help of the Holy Spirit to bring to light God's true teaching on this subject. I would like the reader of this book to come with an open mind and to leave their preconceived ideas outside, so as to let God speak to you through this book and to ask God to lead you in to all truth. I believe that at the end of this study you will see this subject in a different light. In addition, it will bring deliverance to many people who through a lack of knowledge, are bound by the enemy and in spiralling decline in their walk with God. For as the scripture says, "my people perish for a lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6) So then, the opposite must be true and again Jesus Himself has said you shall know the truth and it shall set you free. (John 8:32) Now by God's grace, let us commence setting God's people free. Now if we start with the subject of divorce and remarriage some would say there is no divorce and to say one could remarry while their ex spouse was still alive would contradict scripture, which to the Christian would mean to contradict God. The true conscientious believer will question whether God has allowed divorce for certain reasons and indeed remarriage. I will go to those verses which apparently rule out divorce and remarriage and answer with God's help any queries on this matter. I like those people who question before accepting something as a given fact for we know there is a lot of rubbish out there. We can see from Paul's writings that the people of Berea were more noble because they had an open mind and searched out the matter concerning Christ from scripture. (Acts 17:11) (KJV noble NKJV fair-minded GWV open-minded) So if we can endeavour to be like those noble Jewish believers of Berea in scripture and examine all that we are told and not just to follow with blind faith. God in his word has said that it is to be the glory of kings to search out a matter. (Proverbs 25:2). Now let us commence being honorable in God's eyes, and I hope in faith that you receive God's blessing from this study.
