About the Book

Fate brings to Polly sadness and happiness; loneliness and love; indifference and passion. Her classically handsome beau is to die for! He is Hispanic from Barcelona, Spain and she is a blonde, white American girl from Long Island, New York City. Polly's best friend Stacey conspired in every possible ways to have Polly see Antonio as a man that comes to American to use her to get his green card. When her plans did not worked, Stacey used her linguistic background to carve out an e-mail about Antonio and sent it to Polly. That led Polly to believe her, which helped her to break up their relationship.

Stacey tried to get Antonio to believe that Polly was not interested in him and that she was seeing other men. In between trying to seduce Antonio, Stacey was also telling Polly to let go of him because she found out that he was married and left a wife and two children in Barcelona. This continued for 47 days before Polly found out that Stacey was lying about Antonio. When the story came out, Polly decided to get back at Stacey. She got Antonio to act out the seduction where he planned to take Stacey to the isle, but would leave her there, on her wedding day.

Hence, the day of the wedding, Stacey showed up for the church ceremony but Antonio and Polly were in a five star hotel in Madrid, celebrating their love. Puss in a Bag is an exciting, sensual romance peppered with grudges, mystery and conspiracy. How could one man have everything... looks, money, profession... and still know what it took to turn his women loosely zealous? This book is a call for love, trust and friendship...a true reminder that love has no boundaries. When the mind, body and soul are anchored in the name of love, skin colour is only a perception. Though Stacey tries her best to take Antonio away from her best friend's happiness by seducing him under her spells, ...Polly now holds it true.

Stay tuned for Puss in a Bag, Series II, coming this fall.

Excerpt

The waiter walked over and said, "This is for you Madam." He reached down and took one rose out from the bunches and handed it to Antonio. Antonio got down on his knees, looked up at Polly and said, "Day one, Honey, for the pain I put you through for forty-seven days. This rose to let you know that I love you."

The waiter again reached in, pulled out a second rose, and handed it Antonio, still on his knees. He said, "Day two, I ached when I couldn't be in your arms and I know you have gone through a lot lately. This rose is to let you know that I love you."

"Day three, I missed many nights' sleep waiting for you to call, and you never did. This rose is to let you know that I love you."

"Day four, the baths and showers, the pillow games, the dinners, and the nagging too were all a part of a relationship that I missed with you. This rose is to let you know that I love you."

Antonio went through rose by rose, from rose number five for day five, six, seven....day 20, day 21...rose 33, rose 34...day 45, day 46 and finally he got to the last rose, which represented day 47, the number of days that Polly and Antonio had been separated from friendship and love. (Those were the times that they went their separate ways, Polly staying in the house and Antonio moving into a hotel room...)

"Day 47, thank God it happened! Believe me, we might not be here to celebrate our love in this fashion. Being here in Madrid before we head home to my parents' home in Barcelona is magical. No one, and I mean no one will ever separate me from the love I have for you."

With teary eyes streaming down Polly's face, Antonio got off his knees. He stood up and pulled Polly into his arms. He reached for the one and final rose, which was the only rose with a string attached, hanging down from the stem. He reached in, pulled something out from the large rose petal and put it in his pocket. Standing, he said to Polly, while looking in her eyes. "This rose is to let you know that I truly love you, my butterfly, my rose, my petal, my sunshine...my Polly. This is rose number 47, the one that represents this time...the last day we were without each other's love."

And, with that said, Antonio handed her the rose. "This is the rose that now seals our love forever."

As Polly reached to take the rose, Antonio reached into his pocket, pulled out the dainty parcel, opened it up and out came a stunning pearl necklace.

"This is for you, my one and only Polly," he said. With tears streaming down Polly's face, the waiter poured out two more glasses of wine and the room became still. It was filled with tranquility. Serenity took the room for almost a whole minute. Suddenly Antonio picked up one glass and handed it to Polly. He picked up the second and with a cracking voice, he said a toast..."for long life and long love." Polly, still trying not to be emotional, couldn't contain her crying in silence. She could hardly contain herself in such a remarkable love-nest setting.

"Waiter, put on this CD for me," she asked, pointing at one sitting at the edge of the table. "I can't let go of my baby."

The waiter walked over and inserted the CD, turned the lights way down, softly walked out the door and closed the hotel suite door behind him with Antonio still holding Polly close to his body. They danced to the sound of softly played music. They celebrated in true fashion, and what a celebration they did...

"Ooops, my baby...isn't it time now when Rev. Donald Demeris would say to the husband, "You may kiss the bride."

"Be quiet...Polly," remarked Antonio. "My bride is right here with me, in my arms." He began to kiss her in the most passionate way.

"Tell me, you haven't had enough kissing since morning? If you are up to it, we could kiss all night," commented Antonio.

"You be quiet! Let's have it our way, and forget about Stacey right now. Forget about everyone! Forget about the world," said Polly.

"I didn't bring the subject up - you did. That is what we need right now," said Antonio.

"You won!" said Polly. And, yes they did forget about EVERYTHING! Antonio picked up Polly in his arms. He carried her to the bedroom. They cuddled, kissed, waltzed, laughed and enjoyed some good lovemaking until late into the hours of the night. When they were finished, the entire mattress was off the bed. They were so tired, they didn't have the energy to pick the mattress off the floor and put it back on the bed. They slept there in each other's arms until morning. They never woke up until the alarm went off.
