About the Book

A goodbye party. Have you ever thought of your funeral as a goodbye party? The Goodbye Party Workbook is a guide to help you plan the details of your funeral or memorial service. Most people take more than three days to plan any party or event. But when it comes to funeral planning, family members are often left to plan an important and expensive event in a short amount of time; all while under extreme stress and grief.

This workbook contains 19 forms to lead you through the planning process. Several options for completing the forms are offered. Methods for maintaining and reviewing your plans are also included. The Goodbye Party Workbook is a companion to The Goodbye Party: The Importance of Planning Your Funeral Now.

About the Author

Kim is healthy and very much alive. She is the founder of The Goodbye Party Consulting Group and the author of The Goodbye Party and The Goodbye Party Workbook. Her desire is to provide the tools and resources to help people plan ahead for their funeral and those of their loved ones. Much of Kim's expertise in this area comes from her work as an Occupational Therapist in Home Care and Hospice. She has seen how essential planning and talking are when illness or death strikes a household and how difficult it is for these tasks to be accomplished when people are in grief.

She says, "Planning my own funeral was a joy. It helped me look forward to heaven. And if I die before my husband, my plans will be my final gift to him. He will be able to grieve and be a guest at my goodbye party. I've done the planning for him."

Kim lives in the Twin Cities area with her husband, Greg, and their dog, Jack. When Kim is not teaching or writing she enjoys biking, listening to bluegrass music, reading, watching movies and just being with family and friends. Kim and Greg also savor hosting Japanese students in their home every summer.
