About the Book

There are dozens of books about Nepal...

Most of them tell you when and where to go, how to get there, and what to do when you arrive. Written with subtle humor and in a clear, quiet voice, A Few Moments in Nepal offers the reader an intimate window on Nepal that is uniquely different from mainstream travel books.

In three economical and superbly-crafted stories, Robert Matthews deftly portrays the unexpected beauty of the country and artfully renders the endearing simplicity and character of its people. Through his vibrant landscapes and candid depiction of the Nepalese, Matthews shows that the allure and essence of Nepal is not limited to its famous topography, but is also abundant in the generous and uniquely ingenuous people of this diminutive kingdom.

This is the only non-guidebook you will need.

About the Author

Robert Matthews has made several visits to Nepal and has been featured in a wide range of publications and anthologies from The Best of Traveler's Tales to Houghton Mifflin's Thematic Approach to Writing. Robert has taught mathematics and humanities-based literature for several years, and lives with his wife Elley in Marin County, California. This is his first volume of selected stories.
