About the Book

Over the Bridge to School is a fun book for primary children that creatively explores the dimensions of shapes needed to build a bridge. The main character, Buster the bus, finds himself in a challenging situation when he discovers the only bridge to school is gone. His only resources to fix the bridge are three dimensional shapes. What shape will make the best bridge?

About the Authors

How many teachers struggle with the question, How can I make teaching the standards fun? During our teaching preparation we were faced with this question daily. We chose to write this story to add a fun twist to exploring geometrical shapes. The main character, Buster the bus, must choose a three dimensional shape that is best suited for buidling a bridge. We believe integrating literacy with math provides children with the visual stimulation needed to comprehend abstract mathematical concepts. We hope teachers and parents use this book in combination with the National Mathematics Standards.
