About the Book

Picking Up Pennies is for people who need guidance in managing money. In simple language, it offers advice on how to get more for your dollar; how to avoid stressful debt; how to build a sound financial future so you can enjoy economic freedom; how to grow pennies into nickels, dimes, quarters, dollars.

About the Author

Ann S. Danly grew up in poverty during the Great Depression, a desperate time for people around the world. Before the age of fifteen she helped her family by selling Liberty magazine for five cents a copy, and picking strawberries for a penny a bucket. She worked her way through college by waiting tables for the staggering sum of eight dollars a week, and earned a B.A. degree from the University of Washington in Drama and English. With her husband James she raised eight children and put them all through college. Today, Ann claims that poverty was her greatest teacher. She learned to live modestly, never waste, to appreciate the little things in life, and to "save for a rainy day." Ann and James live in Naples, Florida and are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
