About the Author
I was originally born in Ashland, Ohio in 1969. My parents moved us westward looking for better work when I was five. We ended up living in a small home tucked away on the front range of the Rocky Mountains. For the next 13 years I grew up in the small town called Rye, Colorado.
After graduation in 1987, I joined the navy for four years and spent over a year-and-a-half at sea. After two tours in the Persian Gulf, visiting nine different countries and drinking plenty of alcohol, I left the service and worked odd jobs for many years.
In 1995, I was lucky enough to find a beautiful woman to spend the rest of my life with. By 1996, we were married and busily working on making a family.
I began training for my life-long dream. I always wanted to fly, whether it was in a fighter jet, a Cessna, corporate jet, or airlines. It was my passion in life.
Today, I have my single mulit engine, instrument and commercial certificates. I also have several flight instructors certficates and actively teach people to fly. This is the time commercial pilots 'build experience and flight time to become corporate or ailrline pilots.
It is just another step on the ladder, but I do not know if I want to go any further in my flying career. Most people don't understand how much time pilots spend away from home. It is very hard on the home life. I would rather write books for a living than and watch my kids grow up instead of spening my whole life inside and aluminum tube thirty thousand feet up.
So I hope you enjoy my first book.
