About the Book

Jessica Adams, a soon-to-be-retired detective, tells a police academy cadet about the most phenominal case she's ever encountered and helped to solve. The police cadet is amazed to learn that it took twenty years to solve the case. When Jessica tells him that it was solved by God, the murdered victim and a few of God's helpers here on earth, he wants to hear the whole story from beginning to end, and Jessica obliges by telling him the whole unique story.

About the Author

Juliet Romero has been married for twelve years. She has a son and a daughter whom she is very grateful for. She's always liked love stories, life stories that make you feel good and murder mysteries. She believes that The Douglas Angels is a combination of all three of these. She has gone through many life changing experiences in the past four years, and was born again unto God while writing this book. She says she gets her enthusiasm for writing from "The Big Guy Upstairs" and never would have been able to write this book if it wasn't for Him allowing her to do so. She also couldn't believe how many people supported her while she wrote this book, but couldn't have done it, without every single one of them.

Excerpts

"No one ever found out anything else about this case?" the cadet asked,
looking rather puzzled.
"I know by that look on your face, you are puzzled because you were assuming
that the case that stood out most in my mind would be one case that would've
been solved, am I right cadet?" Jessica asked, as she looked at the young
man for a response.
"Yes ma'am, I was assuming that the case you would have me write about would
be one that had been solved," said the cadet.
"Well cadet, your assumption was correct, this case did end up getting solved,
but are you ready for what I'm about to tell you?" asked Jessica, keeping
the cadet anxiously awaiting an answer.
"This case was not solved until.....twenty years AFTER, it had taken place!"
she exclaimed, looking over at him to see his reaction to this new information.
"Wow!" exclaimed the cadet, "are you serious, it was finally solved....
but twenty years....how on earth....okay; now I just have to know, how on
earth did you solve it?"
"It wasn't until she was in the middle of making dinner that same
evening when all of a sudden the voice was back, saying once again,
"it's in the box," this time Shelly told Donna that she was not going to
let this get the best of her so she ignored it," said Jessica, as she
continued on, "but she heard it again and this time it said, "it's in
the box, the picture, it's in the box."
"Shelly told Donna that this just drove her crazy, she was standing
there cooking dinner and thought about it and then decided to go look
in her picture drawer, it was a huge drawer she kept all her pictures in,
there was no rhyme or reason for the way they were put in there as she
stood in front of this huge drawer she heard the voice again, "it's in
the box, the picture, it's in the box, on the right hand side on the bottom,"
said Jessica, looking at the cadet, making sure he was staying caught up.
"Shelly told Donna that she opened up this picture drawer that was stuffed
full, then heard the voice say again, "it's in the box, on the right hand side,
on the bottom," so Shelly dug down on the right hand side of the drawer, low
and behold there was a box, she pulled out the box that she'd found,"
Jessica said, as she continued on, "when she opened the box, there were
pictures of Shelly at her thirteenth birthday party, she found one of
Donna too, but kept on digging not really knowing what she was supposed
to be looking for, then she came to the last picture in the box, it was
a picture of Alan, and Shelly was supposed to have given it to Donna
over eighteen years earlier!"
"Donna told me that she was even amazed that Bob had stayed with her and
not packed his bags a long time ago, she didn't understand why he did
stay, but since he did, it made her take a look at him with so much more
respect and love, plus, she'd also thought that Bob wasn't supposed to
be part of this all, but with the help of her sister danielle, she
realized that without him none of this would have been possible for her
to do, without Bob helping her, none of this would have been able to
happen, and was definetly suppose to happen," said Jessica.
"Danielle told Donna to never count Bob out, he'd already been through so
much with her and she too, was surprised by nim staying with Donna and being
able to handle everything he had, up to this point," said Jessica.
"Donna told me that being made aware of how much Bob was able to handle
during this whole thing made her realize that Bob loved her just as much
as Alan had, that was a huge realization for Donna because she didn't
think anyone on this earth would ever be able to love her like Alan, but
Bob proved her wrong," said Jessica.
"Donna said that she thought that her family was shocked, but knew in
her heart that it was going to be the best thing that she could ever do
for herself, her siblings and family, because everyone should want to
help in spreading the joy that comes with being in a relationship with
God, and through our belief in His Son, Jesus Christ, we can attain
that; there is just no better peace, comfort, love or joy that comes to
one's heart when this happens, said Jessica, with a tear in her eye.
"Are you okay ma'am?" asked the cadet, getting Jessica a tissue.
"I hope that someday you will heed the words to this story cadet, because
Donna is right, and when I finally realized that she was, I went to my church
and talked to my Pastor about what I had learned from this case and he
told me the same thing, that it was a wonderful thing that Donna had
gone through, not everyone goes through what Donna had but if we can
learn from what she went through and realize that it opens up our lives
to so many other possibilities, well, it's plain and simple, there is no
better feeling on this earth than the feeling that God and Jesus give us
when They allow us to become Their children, nothing comes even close to
the feeling you get when you know in your heart, that you have been
re-born unto God," said Jessica.
