About the Book

New humorist writer, Brian Eden, extracts the absurd from the accepted and the strange from the ordinary in story after story of comic reflection about the world in general and American society in particular.

Relating some of his more bizarre experiences with a mixture of admitted philosophical dribble, obtuse political thinking, some worldly strangeness and a sampling of his peculiar outside the box analysis of what's socially correct and what's not... and you have this book, over 75 stories to keep the reader entertained.

Eden's whimsical take on society and human nature will keep you chuckling.

Treat yourself to Brian Eden's philosophical thoughts, suggestions, experiences, observations, satire, musings, speculations and absurdities about society and our place in the cosmos.

About the Author

By the Author

Perhaps when I have written a respectable list of books, someone will write this page, but for now I guess it is up to me. I will do my best to remain humble and keep any exaggerations to a minimum.

My career as an author (and that is already an exaggeration, sorry), is like the bread of a sandwich in which the contents are 36 years of uninspiring participation in the aerospace/defense industry. During this tenure I received one citation of whereas's from the Mayor of Los Angeles, one plastic public relations award and a couple of cheaply-framed certificates of appreciation or other such certificate-in-lieu-of-a-raise awards. Not much to show for 36 years.

On the front end of my writing career (between 7-14 years) I published my own sports page, did a respectable imitation of the handicap section of the Daily Racing Form (my father and uncle were horse players who broke me in early) and almost wrote a few short stories.

When the time came to select a college, I opted for engineering school instead of journalism only because of the undesired prospects of studying Shakespeare, poetry and the like. What a mistake! It turned out studying electro-magnetic fields was even more boring.

I left the aerospace industry early, convinced that one more certificate wasn't worth another 10 years and joined the ranks of struggling authors. I was always a better observer than a doer (management translation - a better staff guy then line guy) and that proved helpful since both of my books are based on observations, the first directly and the second indirectly, or at an angle.
