About the Book

Rusty, Dusty, and Muddy Paw are three coyotes sent out of the den by their Momma Yote to learn how to hunt on their own. The trouble is, each wants to be able to prove that they can hunt without any sibling's help...and so begins each youngster yote's adventure.

The trio manages to find a witty raven, a sly fox, and two cunning raccoons on their way, each managing to trick the coyotes and get the food all to themselves, leaving the three hungry bellies of the yotes empty. A last ditch effort arises when Dusty comes up with a plan: the coyotes should become the tricksters!

They easily fool Digger Dog the badger out of a bunny meal, but when the coyotes don't expect is that the bunny, named Bumblefoot, has a trick up his own sleeve...er, fur. The way this story unfolds will keep everyone amused, right up until the end. With ample, finely detailed illustrations on every page, it's sure to delight all ages. Find out if these three yote pups do get their meal in the end...or just more trickster trouble.

About the Author

Vanessa Knight, a 23 year old artist with a special affinity for nature, enjoys sketching, drawing, and painting all things winged, furry, and scaly. She began her kids' book writing and illustrating career with Moki Macaroni, followed shortly afterwards by A Pig and a Pug. A Tale of Tricksters will be her third book with Trafford.
