About the Book

Abracadabra Abegail at the Seashore is a tale of three little Yorkies who live by the sea with their family. Abegail is the oldest of the three and has a tendency to do things her own way. She stands up to a grumpy sand crab like any fearless and slightly mischievious terrier would. Her younger Yorkie brother and sister, Teddy and Tara, sigh and wink when one of Abegail's plans goes awry. Abegail's tummy sometimes leads her into a little bit of trouble, but things always turn our fine in the end. One day, Abegail sees a plain, stray dog running on her beach. Her mommy goes to meet the dog and they invite him for supper. They discover that the stray, Mortimer, is homeless. Teddy becomes a little jealous when Mortimer comes to stay, but Mortimer proves his worth when he selflessly saves one of his new friends.

This book is a wonderful read for children and adults alike. It is especially good for children expecting a new brother or sister and for all people to open their minds and their hearts to others in spite of their differences. Although Mortimer comes from "the wrong side of the tracks," he is a kind hearted, faithful friend who proves that differences are not always bad.

About the Author

Victoria Broussard graduated from LSU with a B.A. in Mass Communication and is currently pursuing a Master's degree. Her love for her "children," nine dogs and six horses, motivated her to write a story for children capturing the whimsical nature of animals with personalities much larger than themselves. In addition to her three Yorkies, the author shares her home with Trevor, Honey Bear, Holly Bear, CoCo, Tappen and Patty, a stray who found his way into the author's home and her heart.
