About the Book

What happens when winter comes along a little earlier than usual and a rather scatty squirrel hasn't prepared a den for her four adorable kittens? This is the enchanting rhyming tale of Suzy the squirrel, and of Desmond and her other woodland friends who help sort out her shortcomings - and of Suzy's supreme efforts to repay Desmond as Christmas nears.

The author has cleverly introduced some interesting facts about squirrels as well as some "big" words which, experience has taught her, young children love to keep tucked away in the back of their minds for later use!

About the Author

Helen Shanahan was born and grew up in the Fiji Islands. She is married to Paul, a New Zealander, and they have lived in Switzerland for many years where they brought up their five lovely children. Helen's absolutely adorable grandchildren have been the inspiration for her poems and rhyming tales.

The exquisite illustrations were done by the very talented Christophe Berthoud.
