About the Book

Happiness is Up to Me provides teachers, and anyone who works with others, the tools to self-evaluate daily connections. Applying the ideas of Dr. William Glasser, this book provides insight into the ins and outs of choosing more effective behaviors both in and out of the classroom. A teacher's classroom reality is openly shared and evaluated. The 'uncommon sense' philosophy of Choice Theory provides the tools for focusing on what is effective, but at times the application becomes more akin to mountain climbing. The reader experiences a unique journey through the roles of the author as teacher, mother and spouse with happiness as the final outcome.

Angela Ward, who is currently teaching in a classroom, actively participates in training teachers on how to apply Choice Theory which culminates in the realization of Lead Management. Her goal in writing this book is to encourage teachers to share their journeys and work together to embrace change in their professional lives in Brevard County, Florida, THE place to teach.

About the Author

Angela Ward has been a public educator for seventeen years and has continually searched for and implemented ways to improved her teaching techniques. She has found the Choice Theory philosophy to be an effective way to improve education and relationships within the classroom. Because improving the state of education is very important to her, Angela became a member of the William Glasser Institute to work with a group of people who hold similar ideals and hope to change the picture of education in our world. She believes she is a better wife, mother and teacher since applying the philosophies of Choice Theory to her life.
