About the Book

This book introduces a complete set of interactive multimedia computer displays and paper-and-pencil activities that help children see, feel, participate, learn, and master key core curriculum concepts: counting, place values, using money, and bases other than 10 in mathematics. The visual object approach to learning core curriculum mathematics concepts is also used in an addendum sections for teachers and adults, where counting in other bases, such as 5, and binary coded (2, 8, 16) are introduced. Animated displays are also included to compare some of the most historically important bases, and to perform parallel calculations in any other bases desired. The activities are contained in an accompanying CD, and will run automatically in computers using the Microsoft Windows XP, and compatible versions of Apple Macintosh operating systems.
