About the Book

Sky All Around is a picture book that children and adults--whether in two-story farm houses or twenty-story apartment buildings--will savor reading together. At once realistic and lyrical, the book explores a farming community by highlighting well-known landmarks through evocative watercolor and rhyme.



About the Author and Illustrator

About the Author:

Sarah Shey was born and raised on a cattle, corn and bean farm in Iowa. She has written for The New York Times, Time Out New York, The New York Sun, The Des Moines Register, The Iowan, Bridal Guide, This Old House Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. She received her MFA in writing from Columbia University and her BA from Northwestern University. This is her first picture book.

Shey also wrote Blue Lake Days, a children's book based on Iowa's Lake Okoboji.

About the Illustrator:

A native of northeast Iowa, Dustin Kelly received his BFA in sculpture from the University of Iowa.
