About the Book
A mommy and a daddy desperately want a child to love. While "bursting" with love to give, they feel "empty" because they have no child to give it to. They try month after month, year after year, but no baby comes. Their hope gradually turns into sadness and despair, until one day when the mommy becomes ill. A rush to the doctor reveals that the mommy is pregnant and will soon have a baby to love "more than anything in the world." Joy and anticipation replace sadness and despair, and the arrival of their blessed son is the best thing in the world.
As the baby grows into a young boy, he knows that his mommy and daddy love him very much. His curiosity, however, gets the best of him, and he yearns to know just "HOW MUCH" they love him. One simple question, "Just HOW MUCH do you love me?", turns the phrase "I love you very much" into a fantasia of meaning, as the mommy reaches deep down into her heart to describe just 'HOW MUCH' she loves her son.
About the Author
Katina Cahill is a 34-year old wife and mother of two. She has a B.A. in English Education and a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. She describes herself as a "recovering perfectionist, workoholic" who has been shown "the real meaning of life" through her experiences.
While she enjoys her professional life as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a private practice, she now relishes her life as a mom and writer. After suffering years of infertility, four miscarriages, and the death of her daughter, Elaina, Katina's life has been changed forever, and she has learned how important it is to always let the special people in her life know how much she loves them.
"Writing has always been an outlet for emotion for me for as long as I can remember," says Katina. "I have a poetry and journals from as far back as when I was 7 years old. I've always been able to express in writing what I cannot verbally." Katina focuses her Speech Therapy practice on children and prides herself on her ability to communicate and form special bonds with the children she works with. Katina states, "I have worked with children who have everything, and I have worked with children who have nothing. The may look different on the outside, but deep down, they are all the same. They all need to know how loved and special they are, and the way to do that is putting the words into language." Katina hopes that she has done this in her book I Love You This Much. "I've had to learn to do this even with my own children," says Katina. "They have taught me how to show and express my love." Katina hopes that her book will not only relate to all children "how much" their parents love them, but also help parents explain to their children just "how much" they love them.
