About the Book

Boating With Moe is a light hearted, humorous story of a seven-year-old girl's trip with her grandfather and uncle during summer vacation.

Taking place in the Gulf Islands and on the Sunshine Coast, the reader, both boater and non boater alike, will enjoy their journey to actual coastal locations as seen through the eyes of the three-generational crew as they cruise aboard a 46-foot powerboat.

About the Author

John van Kleeck is involved in the marine business and has been boating on the West Coast for over 40 years. His last real job was in 1991. He was born in Vancouver, B.C. and resides in his old neighborhood of Kerrisdale, surrounded by art, books and nautical junk. He is thinking about getting a goldfish.

John is a grandfather and has celebrated his 50th birthday more than once. He recently completed Dog Days of Summer, a sequel to Boating With Moe that takes the reader on a boating and flying adventure to Desolation Sound and the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
