About the Book
Abby's Curtsy was created to teach kids what a curtsy is and to utilize their imagination. A curtsy is what someone would do in a special formal circumstance calling for the utmost of proper behavior. Abby's intentions are just that, she curtsies to her family, teacher, and special people in her life. To her each curtsy is perfect, but unbeknownst to her each curtsy causes chaos and loads of fun. Abby is a dreamer showing those around her just how important they are by doing the one thing she has determined to show her utmost respect, a curtsy.
About the Author
Clover Kingsbury has two children of her own, a daughter and a son. She is a self taught artist and writer. As a child herself she remembers a special time with her father when she was introduced to some important friends and at the age of six thought that best behavior called for a curtsy, which she did. Everyone laughed and thought this to be adorable. Clover could not understand why everyone laughed, after all a curtsy was proper. Could it have been when she curtsied her new white furry hairband fell in the water? She has never forgotten this special time in her life and the fun everyone experienced. Clover wrote this book with this memory in mind. Just before sending this book to publish, her brother in-law and sister in-law gave birth to a down-syndrome little girl, Abby. Abby is very precious to the family and brings an abundance of joy to everyone. Clover had named this book after her own daughter, but both agreed the book should bear Abby's name. This is also why proceeds from the sale of this book go to Special Olympics.
