About the Author
![]()
William Edwards was born in Kent in 1937 and grew up in Chislehurst. As a youth on a motorcycle, he explored the English countryside and was soon smitten with the mystery and romance of history.
After his service in the RAF, he worked in the field of industrial electronics.
An assignment in 1961- 62 on the oil pipeline crossing the Syrian Desert introduced him to life in the Middle East. Then, in 1962, he migrated to Canada and lived in Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia until returning in 1975 to England. After a short spell in Germany, in 1980 - 81, he came back to Kent.
Travel had always been a favourite hobby and took him to places around Europe and the Mediterranean. He now lives in retirement in Kent, on the Isle of Thanet, and is writing a collection of short stories and a novel.
