About the Book

Imagine how busy it must be for a four year-old girl with an inquisitive younger brother! Her life is as "busy" to her, as the hectic life of any adult. When this small girl begins her day, she begins giving her younger brother lessons in singing, reading, tumbling and more.  Taylor realizes that she isn*t the only child in her family any longer and it is important for her to teach her little brother the ropes.

As Taylor, our young teacher, begins her day, she introduces her loving family. She shares what is special about herself and how she helps her little brother Dalton. She helps him swing in the park, read and write, choose the best books, sing to her parents, take safe pony rides from Dad, cook, tumble and play safely using the proper safety equipment.

This is a 530 word heart-warming tale of a big sister that tends to her little brother's every need under the watchful eye of her parents. It was written with the *beginning reader* in mind.

About the Author

As a parent, grandparent, and a teacher of young readers for the past twelve years, I have read a lot of picture books. I have blended a tale of the four-year olds busy day with a rhyme and repetitive words, including over eighty- five of the most commonly used words in our language.

The book is colorful, and it has a touching tale of sibling love, while it is memorable and manageable for the beginning or emergent reader. Nearly each page asks the reader to use their prior knowledge and interact with the story by asking questions to the reader.

After reading the book, they are further asked to interact by coloring in the words that they have found IN the book and practice reading them. There is a special page in the back of the book for this. I think that 'Taylor's Busy Day' would be a wonderful addition to your child's book collection and beneficial in helping them to practice their reading and comprehension skills
