About the Book
Godspell takes you on a journey which starts out before the day of Creation. It supposes the possible events leading up to angels falling from grace, being kicked out of Heaven.
It leads you into Creation. You witness the playfulness and closeness existing between man and wife. You see man loving her above all else, so much so that he chooses to obey her instead of God, which places the world in the mess it's in today.
Godspell brings you through time, through the days of the flood, the history of the Bible, Jesus' death and resurrection, right up to the point where Satan realizes he cannot defeat Jesus, and devises a plan.
Yet, through it all, from beginning to end, you see for yourself how the battle rages for your soul every moment of the day. Satan is always at work, trying to destroy what God has built, while God's Angels continue to take charge, protecting Christian souls from immortal danger.
About the Author
![]()
Michael T. Ingram is a family man. There's no other adequate term to describe him. He places his family second only to God and cherishes each moment spent with them, as though it could be the last.
Though a carpenter by trade, Michael works in many areas. In his "off" hours, he keeps himself busy helping maintain his home. He cooks, cleans, and does laundry, among other household chores.
He maintains his website, ,
www.ServeJesusForReal, and always has something new to share with his visitors. He is a jail minister, a man who realizes that born-again Christians are mandated to share the gospel with all the world, inmates included, no matter what their crime. Michael teaches Sunday School, and delights in seeing the enthusiasm on the childrens' faces. He is elated because they accept him - a most humble man indeed!
One of Michael's greatest personal passions is teaching the love of Jesus through writing. He loves to write and plans to write forever, or until God calls him home, and he's ecstatic that he now has a writing partner, Norma Budden-Aningat.
Another passion of Michael's is to meet people he leads to Jesus, directly or indirectly. Michael's heart beats for His Master and he wants your heart to do the same.
Excerpts
Excerpt from Godspell Chapter 1:
The Lord Almighty spoke, "Let there be others, ministers of flame, and fire, future servants of the crucified Lamb, slain before the foundation of the Earth, for My children."
Power unwitnessed pulsed and flowed throughout the void, and suddenly brightness appeared. It covered the void in all directions. It was alive, and it was good. It bowed before the Majesty of the Most High.
One by one, the creatures of Light presented themselves to the Most High, and one by one He named them.
"You are Gabriel, My Messenger, and you are given power and authority over many of your brethren. Stand by Me."
An older Angel stepped forward, his face reflecting the gift of wisdom the Lord had entrusted to him. His was a hard face, the face of someone who would stand no opposition to his authority.
"You are Michael, and you will serve Me in war against My enemies, and you will not be defeated. Stand by Me."
A tall, handsome Warrior stepped forward, his sword appearing before him as an extension of his hand. Fire and lightening crackled at his feet. "You are Raphael, My servant, and you will be a help to many. Stand by Me."
A muscular, bronze-skinned Angel stepped forward. "You are Ahzrael, My servant, and you will protect the boundaries of creation, along with many others. Stand by Me."
Another Angel stepped forward. He was beautiful beyond description. One of the gifts the Lord had given this one was obviously beauty and brightness, for it glowed with a nearly incomparable glory. Only the Glory of the Lord Most High outshone it.
"You are Lucifer," the Lord spoke, "and you will stand in the glory of the Most High. Your power will be great, and the gift of music will be within you. Stand by Me."
Lucifer proudly took his place at the right hand of the Most High. On and on it went, the naming, as He who is the Most High addressed each of His servants by name, entrusting to them specific powers and duties.
Each one, in their turn, bowed before the Most High, acknowledging His Majesty. He was the Creator. There was, and is no other. His love for what He had created flowed to each of them, sustaining them, directing them.
As each received their name, they stood beside the Most High. When the naming was done, His love directed them in each of their tasks.
Disobedience was unthought of.
There was much to be done. A Plan had been made, in fact the Plan was as much a part of reality as the servants themselves.
The purpose of the servants was to aid in the Plan, a Plan which the Most High intended to implement. He was not sharing the details with anyone.
While all were busying themselves with their individual duties, there was one who continually questioned the Creator. His name was Lucifer.
"Oh Most High One," he began, "Do You ever grow weary of the great work that is before You? Entrust to me the power to do this work, that You may rest."
Music, such as was played then, had never been heard before, and never since. It flowed from Lucifer, from his very being, and was, at once, soothing and compelling to all who heard it.
It was a song of joy in living, a song of exultation, a song of peace, and a song of praise. It was all these things and more. If it had any effect on the Most High, He did not show it, merely received it as His due.
Lucifer was disappointed he had not been complimented for the song, and more disappointed the Lord had not taken him up on his offer. His disappointment was great, and his pain at going unnoticed by the Most High grew with every passing moment. It seemed to him the Most High did not care about him as He did the others.
Time passed without notice. Angels, continually, praised the Most High crying, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty. There is none like the Most High. No, not in all Creation."
The more time spent in the Presence of the Most High, the more Lucifer began to glow with the power and glory of the Lord. It was a reflected glory, but Lucifer perceived it as his own. He was, after all, an angel of Light, created by the Most High. Why shouldn't his glory be like that of the Most High?
Truly, he stood in the Presence; he was there when plans were made, when the future of all creation was discussed - surely he could carry out the Plan as well as anyone!
More time passed with neither memory nor acknowledgement and still Lucifer's questions continued.
"What is this Plan You speak of? Explain it to me, that I may better serve You," he humbly spoke.
"What part does the Lamb play in Your Plan?" He spoke this coaxingly.
"What part do I play in your Plan?" This time his voice was filled with hope. This was of most immediate concern to Lucifer, because the Lamb was a great mystery to him; the Lamb seemed to be some sort of extension of the Most High Himself, a position that Lucifer coveted.
The entire Plan obviously hinged on the Lamb; Lucifer seemed to play no great part. He only stood in the Presence. Surely he could do more than just that!
The more he considered, the more he was certain that his powers could be used as effectively as the Lord's in furthering the Plan, and then the Lord could rest!
He noticed how the Lord's power of love affected the others, compelling them to service. He wondered if he could do the same. While he did not have the love the Lord did, he did have his music, which he played continually before the Lord. Perhaps if he tinkered a bit with the melodies......
"What is this you have done?" The voice of the Most High thundered throughout creation. All alive heard it, and stopped what they were doing.
This side of the Creator had never been seen before, in fact had never been necessary. Power and judgment surged in every word! At the sound of that great voice, nearly all of creation bowed down to worship.
