About the Book

A Fork in the Road tells the story of one woman's ethical journey throughout a brief period of her middle-aged years. It chronicles several types of moral dilemmas we encounter when we are faced with various options in our lives. It also reveals some of the consequences of our actions when we choose one path over another. It is honest and direct in its declaration that good and evil coexist in every facet of our lives. It is uplifting and must reading for anyone who has ever questioned why negativity must disrupt our lives by casting shadows in our paths. It teaches us that, despite the existence of evil, there is always the positive choice to do the right thing and to effect positive change in our lives, as well as in the lives of others.

Excerpts

Page 2 - "This day would forever live in the memory of humanity, but the memory would be more than pain and sorrow; it would be love and pride, as well. Lives were taken, but spirits were not broken. Amid death and destruction, life became precious. We suddenly started paying more attention to each other. We became increasingly grateful for our families and friends."

Page 3 - "Elaine had been the victim of slander on more than one occasion. In fact, the devil was inordinately busy in the agency where Elaine had worked for the past eighteen years."

Page 48 - "Life is a continuous challenge. We face many possible paths. We will constantly come to a fork in the road - a place where we must make a decision. When Elaine faced two roads, she often took the one less traveled. She followed her heart. She followed her conscience. She followed her soul."
