About the Author and Illustrators

A native Texan, Mala Farmer has had a lifelong passion for writing, including short stories, poems, and songs. Her first book, It's Motherhood...What'd You Expect? was published in 2002 by Trafford Publishing. Ms. Farmer's career teaching English as a Second Language encompasses her current work as an instructor at Texas A&M University, as well as her work in Tampico, Mexico; Pohnpei, Micronesia; Bogota, Colombia; and Texas public schools. Ms. Farmer received a B.A. in English and Spanish from Stephen F. Austin State University and a M.Ed. in Educational Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University with a specialization in English as a Second Language. Ms. Farmer's interests include her passion for writing, singing, and jewelry making. Ms. Farmer lives with her family in College Station, Texas.
