About the Book

Most people know the story of Noah's ark and there have been dozens of children's books written on the subject. My book is different. It is a fun story about a modern day little boy named Noah. While the words reflect the old bible story, the illustrations tell the story of a boy named Noah as he gets ready for bed. The rhymes make it especially fun for young ones and a little more than half the book showcases Noah's toy animals as he puts them away.

The inspiration for this book came from a phone call with my mom. Since I was young, we have found great amusement in trying to build on the old saying ''See you later alligator.'' After getting stuck on the third animal, I got out a pen and paper and started on what was supposed to be an attempt to outwit my mom. It quickly turned into a idea for a children's book. The idea originally revolved around Noah saying goodbye to some of the animals as they left the ark, but when I started the illustrations, they were too generic and too reminimscent of a Noah's Ark book my son already had and loved. As my oldest son (all my children really) is a never ending source of inspiration, I thought it would be fun to instead make the story about a boy his age. After all, kids love to read about themselves and others just like them.

About the Author

My husband and I were married in April of 1997 and are expecting children numbers 4 and 5 (twins) in February 2005. We have three other children including another set of twins. My children always come first and after the birth of our first son in 2001, I began to take my hobby of writing more seriously. I felt it would give me the freedom and opportunity to be where my children needed me most. I began writing about sixteen years ago mainly focusing on short stories and poetry. At that time I wrote for myself and found it therapeutic. Now I find I get even greater enjoyment from sharing my gift with others.
