We want to give the highlights of each state, through the travels of Alfred, an elephant, and his good friend Mr. Monocle. They experience different geographical phenomena, historical landmarks and they witness different cultures. our goal is to show the greatness of this nation through words and illustrations.

About the Authors
Elizabeth O'Neill
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Studied at the Cleveland Art Institute, The Chicago Institute of Art, and Illinois University. Also studied with Corita Kent in California. Taught art all on all levels for twenty five years. Became a docent at the Cincinnati Art Museum in 1979 and continues to guide others through the Museum. As a practicing artist she has her own studio and exhibits regularly in many galleries.
Missie McPherson
Born in Chicago, Illinois, graduated from Centenary College for Women in New Jersey. Taught Nursery Schools in Washington D.C., Bethesda, Maryland, and Akron, Ohio. Was a director of three Nursery Schools in South Bend, Indiana. Served on many boards of different social agencies. Married, has three children and five grandchildren. Now lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
