About the Book

About the Book

This book was written to tell the story of two men who were the backbone of a Western Swing band called "Dude Martin and His Round Up Gang".

The band was very popular in Northern California during the 30s to the early 50s. Popular enough to have two radio programs a day during the Depression and, later, a daily TV show that won numerous awards. Their dances were usually to a full house.

This is also the story of an amazing partnership that had considerable success and lasted almost twenty years.

Included in this 150 page book are over 300 illustrations and some drawings by a band member who was with Walt Disney productions. It also includes a complete index and a list of the band's recordings.
