Chief Instructor & Chairman, American JKA Karate AssociationEdmond Otis, American JKA Karate Association Chairman and Chief Instructor, is director of Martial Arts Studies at the University of California, Riverside, and is internationally known as a competitor, instructor, coach, and judge. He has practiced Shotokan karate since 1967. Otis is acclaimed for his innnovative and dynamic teaching style, and is considered by many to be one of the premier karate instructors of his generation. He has trained numerous individuals and teams to national and international championships, and travels extensively for the American JKA Karate Association, conducting seminars that focus in all aspects of karate practice.

David Gomez, 4th Dan
Associate Instructor, American JKA Karate AssociationDavid Gomez is the Senior Instructor at the Georgia Karate Academy, Inc., in Watkinsville, Georgia, and an Adjunct Karate Instructor at the Gainesville College Oconee Campus of the Georgia State University system. He has practiced traditional JKA-style Shotokan karate since 1978. Sensei Gomez is an accomplished graphic artist, author, multimedia producer, and desktop publisher who primarily uses those talents to create karate-related educational books and multimedia.
