About the Book

Afterward

This anthology in English and another one in both Chinese and English were finished in November 2000, I made some printed copies with my HP DeskJet 500 and with my hands put them together to form five tiny books for each. For a long times I could not find a publisher that would print books in two languages, hence I put them aside. Until spring of this year, I found through the Internet a Canadian publisher Trafford, which would be able to do the job for me. However I have to do the preparations such as typing, editing, print or hard copy etc. (if text software would not be compatible with what the publisher uses, Trafford will use scan technique to make it work.) I did find another better font of characters in Microsoft Works recently and I decided to re-type my English poems with this new font. By the way, I have added a few of my new poems in this new edition. It took me a few months to finish the job ( actually most the time was spent for the cover design.)

After my task had been fulfilled _ To write poems in Chinese and English with the same topic, this anthology should be given high priority to be published, However later I changed my mind to publish Anthology in English first instead. I hope this small book will attain some recognition from my future English readers and before long I'll get my Anthology written in both Chinese and English be published for another group of readers, most of them are living in the other side of the world.

About the Author

I was born is Canton (Guangzhou), Chine where I used my first language, Chinese, to write poems for what I saw, for what I heard and for hat I felt in and with my motherland. Later I fled to Hong Kong and lived there for a few years before I emigrated to America where I continued to write poems for what I saw, what I heard and what I felt in and with this country, but in both Chinese and English. I believe that life is the main source for my poetic creativity, personal emotion is the turn on switch and writing skill just makes it well done. Life sometimes is easy, sometimes is tough, sometimes is happy and sometimes is better,. It does not matter what happened to me, I just take it; like an old Chinese saying: "Eat whatever they serve me." Because life keeps changing so do my emotions ( love, joy, hate, fear and grief) which usually recorded in the form of poetry. I've edited my poetry into three anthologies: one in Chinese, one in both Chinese and English, and the last one in English only. However I would publish the last one first.

In the world, there are not many people who are lucky enough to have chances to keep their hobbies as their careers or to keep their careers as their hobbies.

Writing poems is my hobby, not my job. I used to work in an electric company for a livign and I was lucky to have spare time to write poems. I was lucky enough to have found another job during the US recession time and keep my hobby going. Some of my poems have been recognized by the International Poetry Library and Noble House Publishers. I have received Silver Bowl awards twice and have been selected as one of the best poets of 2003 and 2004. Recently my peom" Decision" was published on the International Who's Who In Poetry. I have a nice family, my wife Hannah, our daughter Fontaine and son Anthony, who have been staying with me for the good time and the hard time.
