Excerpts

Today more than any time in history, organizations need to focus their efforts and resources on developing the leadership potential of the individuals that make up the organization. (page 25)

Leadership is an awesome responsibility that should not be taken for granted; therefore, individuals need to be more aware of how someone else*s influence affects their lives and the world. (page 12)

The ability to keep people inspired and moving forward in the face of adversity requires leaders of character who remain steadfastly committed to their role as a leader. (page 40) Organizations that focus their efforts on leadership development of their followers will reap the benefits of their labor through higher retention of qualified personnel, lower turnover at all levels, and improved productivity. (page 25)

Effective leadership will also assist you in better preparing yourself, your followers, and your organizations for the many difficult challenges that you will face today and in your future endeavors. (page 8)

An honest assessment of your personal strengths and weaknesses is by far the most difficult task you will have to perform in your quest to become an effective leader. (page 3)

Many people want to be leaders, but do not understand the burden of responsibility and sacrifice that comes with leadership. (page 83)

Everyone, regardless of their economic, educational, or social status has some unrealized leadership potential. (page 2)

As a true leader, you can affect the future of your organization and the future of your followers through effective leadership practices. (page 81)

Cracking the Nut on Leadership was written not as a how-to-manual or as a stand-alone source, but rather to bring about more awareness to the topic of leadership. (page 115)
