About the Book

Numbers can be fun is a book designed for pre-K, and K-3 learners as an introduction to numbers up to ten. Each number has its own unique illustration, and is accompanied by two lines of simple, rhyming text that reads like a nursery rhyme, naturally lending itself to song. The illustrations contain visual representations of each number, and simple, descriptive text that will help children remember. Some pictures illustrate countable amounts that children can count to begin to learn to identify and associate numbers and what they represent. Others identify unique ways to remember specific number through other associations. This book is also an excellent tool for emerging readers to start building "sight word" vocabularies, or words they recognize when they see them. The importance of sight word vocabularies in building successful, confident readers is critical. When learning to read, children need to experience reading success early and often to gain the confidence they need to become fluent readers. At the same time, they should start to read using material they enjoy and show interest in to create and develop the desire to seek knowledge on their own. This book can help them do both.
