About the Book

Feathers, Fur and Fins is a delightful trilogy of highly imaginative stories about a cockatoo, a coyote, and a dolphin respectively. The Moluccan cockatoo named Bikkia finds herself not only separated from her mate but also in captivity in America. With single-minded determination she learns to understand English as she sets out to free herself and be reunited with Hantu Raya in the hope of returning to their native Moluccan island. Bikkia is truly unique as she recounts her stirring adventures to a sympathetic ornithologist in her native tongue. Dr. Z. in turn translates her first-person story - hence, The Moluccan Manuscript.

Down to Earth is just as remarkable. A mysterious coyote appears endowed with supernatural powers as he uncannily outwits veteran hunters despite their modern equipment. How does the coyote know where to strike with impunity? Where does he gain such exceptional knowledge? Can he possibly survive against such odds?

Beyond All Barriers is the story of the heartfelt relationship between a dolphin and a young fisherman that evolves into a stirring adventure shared by both the Hawaiian islands. Alternately sad and humorous, it is a moving testimony to the power of love between God's creatures.

All three stories are told with verve and whimsy. Their backgrounds have been scrupulously researched for accuracy. As poetic preface, a sonnet captures the mood of the three stories. Feathers, Fur and Fins is truly an original work to be enjoyed by all ages.
