About the Book

This is another in a series of jazz scrapbooks that gives recognition to musicians who should not be forgotten and were personally known to the author, who obtained some 225 photos and illustrations. Many have not been in other jazz books.



About the Author

The late Peter Clute was the pianist with the famous Turk Murphy Jazz Band, and he and Turk were co-founders of Earthquake McGoon's, the legendary Jazz club in San Francisco. Up to the end of his life has was active in music.

Jim Goggin, a retired banker, was the founder of the San Francisco Traditional Jazz Foundation. He has produced jazz recordings, written liner notes, numerous jazz articles and is currently working on his tenth book.
