About the Author
A native of Arizona, Jim Bishopp was born in 1965 and raised by two school teachers. When he entered the investment business in 1986, he realized that people in the education industry, like his parents, were being left off ofthe financial planning information highway.
By 1989 he had built a foundation of knowledge and experience by his working with two firms. However, neither met with his objective of providing financial advice to educators. In November of 1989 Jim opened what would become SJI Financial Services, Inc, a Registered Investment Advosor. Establishing his own firm allowed Jim to specialize in providing investment advice to all kinds of teachers, including university and junior college professors, K-12 teachers, and the support employees of those same schools.
Today, Jim's practice, in Tucson, Arizona, serves over 500 clients. The majority of them are teachers who are investing more than $50,000,000. He employs three financial advisors and three support staff members to ensure all of his clients receive excellent customer care.
Jim shares his life with his wife Penny and their two beautiful daughters. Jim's family is very supportive of the business and they often help out in the office. Penny even puts up with Jim's obsessive behaviors, including the writing of this book when they were on vacation!
