About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
Spinderella Soap is influenced by the 1960's media that utilized film, music, symbols, and art to sell laundry soap, cola drinks and the perfect life. What became Pop art was a creative reaction to such convincing mantras to change ones life by buying an idea or product. Spinderella Soap is a collection of 30 collaged art works culled from fashion magazines narrated by a musically paced poetry. Spinderella symbolizes a multitude of female roles struggling to find self empowerment by dismissing worn out ideals for personal freedom. Spinderella Soap has been performed before Showtimes cast & crew of the TV show "the L-Word".
Minaz expresses, "Spinderella Soap is whimsical, musical, and mystical. Be inspired and enjoy my book". Check out www.artgirlgallery.com to view other art work created by Minaz Jantz.
About the Author
Minaz Jantz currently resides in Vancouver B.C. Canada in her east side "lofty palace" studio. Her bohemian life style brings many opportunities to draw upon artistically. Minaz paints and creates stories of life styles that reflect many who are in the entertainment world. She can often be found drawing the characters from life that are inspired by frequenting recording studios, back stages, clubs, movie sets, carnivals, theatres, galleries, etc.
Artistic eccentricity and her quest for the hidden significance of life have always come natural even in her educational directions that include: 1st year Auto Mechanics, Interior Design, Modern & Jazz dance, Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Business Math. Life + Art = Happiness is the most important equation to Minaz's existence.
Minaz's artwork no matter what the subject matter and setting all reflect her mystical side in a conceptual world where all her symbols stand for some reality. Her childhood spent in Europe exposed her to many Masters of art and architecture that still influence her style. The Masters set a marker for perfecting her techniques and exploring many medias. As a teenager she first worked in an art gallery and later worked with her mother in the family store optimistically named "UCANDU" arts and crafts. It is where she was encouraged to learn not only art but to also become an entrepreneur and teacher.
