About the Book

The book gives a historical overview on Washington's entire life. The focal point of the story is during Washington's time as a surveyor in Virginia, Tennessee and Ohio Valley. It is based on a theory, the author came up with in college, that Washington, who befriended the Iroquois Indians, who played lacrosse, had to have seen them play the game. In Washington's journals during this time period, he refers to seeing young braves 'dancing.' It would have looked like a dance to all colonists because the concept of a team sport did not exist then. The book gives an overview of the history of lacrosse and how the Indians played it at the time. There are good historical facts on George Washington and the game of lacrosse.

Bill Washington was born in NYC on May 27, 1961. He started playing lacrosse for Florham Park, NJ in the youth program at age 14. There were only a handful of towns that had teams back then. It was the first year Lacrosse was a varsity sport at the school and a member of NCAA Division 3. Bill played on the Varsity team for all four years, and received his B.A. in History from Lynchburg

Bill currently works for a New York investment firm, where he is the Director of New Business and Marketing.
