About the Book
O Canada! will take many children on a delightful journey to "It's Your Festival", one of the biggest and oldest Canada Day Festivals in Canada along with a young Hamiltonian boy named Rhys.
The official flag raising ceremony was conducted by the local veterans and the air cadets while people sang "O Canada!" and waved the Canadian flag proudly. Canada's original name "Kanata" came from Ojibwa and it means a "Big village". The first nation's peace dances wished world peace.
Korean Wedding Ceremony and dances showcased colourful costumes of the groom and bride. The Japanese Taiko dancers and the Chinese Dragon dancers were powerful and cheerful while the Bosnian dance and Universoul dances were beautiful and entertaining. A special Canadian Citizenship Ceremony at the festival welcomed the new Canadians from all over the world. The Canada Day Baby Contest celebrates Canada Day with many babies who dressed up in Canada Day inspired outfits.
The Cold Barn Morris Dancers was quite exciting since Rhys became a part of their dance. The magic of face painting transformed the kids into cute cats while Mr. Trulee Odd's actually performed magic, such as eating fire.
The Midway's choo-choo train and the merry-go-round are kids favorite fun at the festival, even the big kids. The Lady Bug's ride was a challenging adventure for Rhys while riding a pony and wagon were fun activities for him.
The International Foods booths showcased all of the diverse Canadian Foods and the delicious deserts made the kid's mouths water.
The beautiful fireworks and top Canadian Headliners entertained thousands of people and it indicated the end of our wonderful Canada Day Celebration.
