About the Book
"Beneath the Shadows of my Wings" allows readers to come face-to-face with many real life misfortunes and helps them realize that it's not until they live and learn they will ever learn to live. The style of poetry that I will introduce readers to or maybe even reintroduce them to is what I like to call "chaos" poetry. Although the poems are not in any particular order, there is an inspirational message in each piece that will take readers on a journey of self-discovery and over a bridge filled with new heights of determination.
About the Author
![]()
My name is Carin La'wan Malone, and I was born to Mr. Nathaniel Malone, and Ms. Christann Arnett on September 26, 1984. I have nine other siblings, three nieces, two nephews, and a host of other family members who I love so very much. I am a 20-year old junior on the lovely campus of the University of Tennessee at Martin. I began my inspirational journey of writing at the age of seven, but I didn't take my writing as serious as everyone else did until 1995, after a devastating house fire that killed two of my cousins and almost took my life as well. It was not until then that I began my God-given talent of deep, inspirational writing.
My poetry has been said to have the power to spark a positive fire in the hearts and minds of many. God has always been the gasoline that has kept my spark of fire fueled. I like to think of inspirational poetry as a weapon of mass destruction that has the ability to kill any negative energy that may be present. I write from my heart and on a level where even the simplest mind can understand because I know that each reader, at some point in time, has been through, is going through, or will be going through some of the same things "Beneath the Shadow of my Wings" speaks about. I only hope that readers are able to look their obstacles and past heartaches in the face with the utmost bit of courage knowing that all good things happen for a reason, and all mishaps happen for an even greater reason.
Above all, I'm only asking that my audience read with the intention of learning, grasping, and re-building. I need them to learn how to appreciate the blessings they have. I need them to grasp as much as they can about being themselves and helping others, even if they must be different to help. Finally, I need them to focus on re-building any part of them that they have allowed others to breakdown or destroy. No one has the power to breakdown or destroy another human being unless the other person allows him to.
I have had my chance to follow great leaders, now I must take the initiative to help lead even great followers. I feel that God has blessed me with talent, too much to hold in. So, I intend to share it with others for as long as I can. Remember, there'll never be an iceberg big enough to wreck you as long as you keep God first in everything you do.
