About the Book

Jamie wanted to go on holiday to exotic places like some of his friends did. His mother was fed up with his continual moaning. She said they could not afford expensive holidays. She suggested they went on a picnic instead.

While Jamie was looking at his favourite magazine about sums, a letter came to say he had won a holiday. A girl, Daisy, had also won.

Jamie was very excited. He felt happy when he went on the picnic but he wondered whether he had really received a letter and whether he was really going on holiday.

This is a story about Jamie and Daisy’s holiday in an unusual place where nearly everything was round. They certainly had a different holiday from all their friends and had some strange adventures.

About the Author

Having been thrust into a situation of being a one parent family with two children, I trained to be a teacher so that I could fit in as much time as possible with my son and daughter. I used to make up stories for my own children when we went out on walks. I also tried to make work interesting for the children at school with my imaginative ideas and spontaneous storytelling.

Now retired and in my 70s I felt I would like to write books for my grandchildren and other children I knew.
