Mike Harley returned home to a message and a problem: two men were stalking him and as he escaped capture he witnessed a murder committed by them. During the unfolding of another murder, Mike realized that he was up against the might of the crime lord Jake Farrow, a corrupt detective who once served him, and met the mysterious Midnight, whose hidden past was revealed when she confronted Mike's pursuers. The revelations sent shockwaves and led to a showdown between the two parties, where survival became the name of the game in a trail of deceit.
Review:
'I really liked this novel from beginning to end. The author presented believable characters in strange situations, with strong writing that moved the story along at a very fast pace. This is a very entertaining novel that was a delightful read by a very talented author. Some books just flow together with snappy dialogue, good characters and fast pacing such is the case here. Even though there are many terms that are very British, that does not take away from this very fine novel. In the future I would like to see other works by Mark Radford.' - midwestbookreview
