About the Book

Mr. Tigg's class is assigned a project to find a real life hero. As the students are struggling through it, they notice that a classmate named Billy has been absent fo awhile. The school guidance counselor shocks the class with news of Billy's condition: he has cancer. The next time Billy comes to school he will be bald due to the chemotherapy. The students put their projects on hold and plan to help Billy with his return to school. The kids decide to all shave their heads in solidarity. In doing so they become real life heroes.



About the Author

Paul Vigoda is a social studies teacher and basketball coach in Queens, New York. Paul has Crohn's disease, which has been a lifelong battle. Through this he has met some real life heroes.

Loreta Teran-Soto is a Spanish teacher in Queens, New york. Her illustrations are inspired by her travels, family and all the children in her life. She's thankful to her husband Hector for his never ending support.
