The way it all began was when I lost my virginity at the early age while walking with my friends to the pictures. The travels that followed took me around the world to places like Viet Nam, and turned soon into small adventures that needed to be told in this book.

Rick Van Dam was born in Holland, one of three children; he came to Australia by ship in 1958 as a migrant. He took up guitar at the early age of 10 and started to play with bands when he was 15 years old. He had an exciting life and travelled around the world as a musician for many years. Rick entertained the troops during the Viet Nam war from 1972-1974 and then travelled around Australia with many other bands. He wrote Days of Lovers and Rock and Roll in his spare time.
