Is revenge ever justified? To what lengths would you go to achieve justice when your loved ones are killed for being in the wrong place?

About the Book

A high school senior student, living in Brompton, New York, decides to rob a convenience store to obtain money and head to the West Coast for a fresh start. He is sure he will fail his year and no longer wants to be a burden to his single parent mother.

The robbery doesn't go as planned and the store owner, along with an innocent mother and daughter, are killed. The husband of the two victims happens to be a teacher at the same high school.

He wants revenge and attempts to get the teenager at the hospital (fails), the juvenile detention center (fails), and the state prison (fails). The prison attempt brings in local, state and federal officials because of its implications to national security. They think it is the Mafia or terrorists who made the attempt because of the scale of the attack and subsequent deaths.

Michael Marquis, a psychology student at McGill University in Montreal, is staying with his parents in Brompton doing research for his final paper at the state trooper headquarters in the county. The commander asks him his opinion about the prison deaths.

Michael's review of the case, intuition, curiosity and luck bring him to the avenging father. He finds evidence to back his suspicion and theory but it isn't enough to get a conviction. A confrontation delivers the proof he needs but a high price is paid.
