About the Book

Cactus Carnival is the story of a little girl living in the Sonoran Desert. She loves her surroundings, especially the Saguaro cacti that resemble people with their outstretched arms. One night she looks out her window and watches in amazement as the cacti literally 'come to life' while the rest of the world sleeps. She describes all the wonders she has witnessed the next morning but her parents insist that it was a dream. She knows it was real, however, and hopes to convince them to stay up with her and see for themselves.

About the Author

Susan Marson lived in Tucson, Arizona for five years with her husband and their daughter, Casey. The beauty of the Sonoran Desert, along with Casey's inquisitive nature, were the inspiration for Cactus Carnival. Although they no longer reside in Tucson, it is a place they will never forget.
