About the Authors

Elizabeth Gravelle is a respected elder of the Ktunaxa Nation. Her first language was Ktunaxa and she grew up speaking her language and began her engagement in linguistics in the early 1970s. She teaches the language to her grandchildren and to adults, and is one of an elite group of translators for the Nation.

Dorothy Alpine is a certified language teacher, and teaches the Ktunaxa language to pre-school age children through to students at the college level. Her first language was Ktunaxa and she has been speaking it all her life. She is also one of an elite group of translators for the Ktunaxa Nation.
