About the Book

Developing the Idea Recently, I have had the opportunity to witness the growth of my son from an infant to a toddler during which time he has become increasingly aware of his surroundings and the factors which shape his daily routine. For him, every new sound, sight and experience creates many new ideas, interpretations and thoughts. It is often difficult, but always a very rewarding experience for me to interpret what he is thinking and feeling. It is even more of a joy as we develop our understanding of one another and the manner in which we are apprehensive or fully embracing of what the late night hours bring.

How It Is Written and for Whom “Is It You?” is about parents and their children helping one another through the night. Imaginary or real fears of the dark, night noises, sickness, deadlines at work, worry for a sick child, insomnia, household finances all could be reasons why children and adults are subject to a sleepless night on occasion. This book can be enjoyed by all audiences of course, but specifically by those adults and children who may be seeking a way to express or interpret a feeling with one another that during the course of a busy day, they are unable to.

Art: Putting Words to Pictures There is a phrase that states. “A picture is worth a thousand words.” I believe that the same can be said of a few well chosen words, which would describe a thousand scenes or pictures. In creating an illustration or a work of art, my intention is to evoke many interpretations of the subject matter. The application of a verse to each illustration will not only provide a great bedtime story but also create the grounds for further interpretation of both the words and the pictures.
