About the Book

Peter Slant arrives in Greece, where suspiciously horrific murders have recently occurred. He and his Greek associate find and kill the suspected killer, then Slant returns home to Kansas City. Slant, who saw his parents murdered by werewolves 20 years ago, checks on the new allergy drug Hibicil. Slant suspects there is a side effect that helps werewolves control their shifting hormones. He receives a call from Brian Tanner in Wyoming, informing him of a werewolf-style killing there. Slant flies to Wyoming to meet his associate, and they hunt and kill a werewolf that night in the open prairie. They learn the victim was an employee of Eastgate Pharmaceuticals, the company that makes Hibicil. They find and follow more Eastgate employees into the mountains of Colorado. They follow the men to a warming cabin and attack and kill them while they are shifting into werewolves. Slant and Tanner make the connection with Hibicil and the Eastgate employees being werewolves, then decide to check out the owner of Eastgate in Nebraska.

Slant meets Sampson Bane, C.E.O. of Eastgate, and discovers that Bane worked where Slant’s parents were killed 20 years ago. Bane is suspicious of Slant’s bizarre questioning, and orders him followed. They soon learn Slant’s motives and alert the other werewolves to the identity of their elusive enemy. An attack is quickly organized, surprising Slant at his home the next night.

Some of Slant’s Greek associates come to his aid. Realizing their anonymity has been compromised, they know they must attack the werewolf community immediately. The men drive to Eastgate’s headquarters in Nebraska, where the key executive werewolves have gathered to meet their leader, Bane. Armed with semi-automatic rifles, 9mm handguns, and a flamethrower, the hunters attack. A final battle ensues, where only one side will be left standing.
