Simple principles are explained: disturbing balance, - connection and harmony - timing and leading - making use of gravity to creat a fall - basic pins and other aspects which can lead to effective Aikido that anyone can develop.
Aikido is a beautiful martial art that is endlessly fascinating and there is no age barrier. (The author is 65 at this writing.)
Although no book about Aikido can be complete or truly comprehensive - since there are simply too many techniques and applications to fit into one volume, or even ten for that matter - the author has attempted to convey principles that can be used to develop a deeper perception in the exploration of Aikido. Along the way he hopes that the reader will see the beauty and the possiblities embodied in Aikido practice and will be inspired to study further.
