About the Book

This poetry was written with my thoughts of the Absentee Shawnee Indian lifestyle and spirituality thanking the Great Spirit for guidance. The poems exhibit the sacredness of our belief of good-bad spirits.



About the Author

Francis Allen Tiger was born at the Pawnee-Ponca Indian Hospital in Pawnee Oklahoma July 8, 1939. His education comes from public schools, the Chilocco Indian boarding school, and later college. Mr. Tiger has a Bachelor degree from Wichita State University in Social Work and a Master degree in Social Work from Kansas University. Francis Tiger served one year in the Oaklahoma National Guard and later enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps where he served from 1956 to 1966.

Francis Tiger dedicates this book to his mother and father who took the time to teach him the cultural lore and Native American Indian ways. He is very proud of his Native American heritage and the many illustrious leaders in the Absentee Shawnee Indian tribe.
