About the Book About the Author Excerpts Catalogue Information About the Book
This book presents an overview of the history given of the promise, manifestation and development of the Body of Christ. It is a marvelous story of battles between the forces of unbelief and those angels and humans who steadfastly hold to the belief that God is who He says He is and will accomplish His purposes - always. In the end Love prevails, and the enemy is defeated forever.
We start at the beginning, first dealing with the problem of origins - a problem that has arisen because of the presumed conflict between science and religion. It is presumed, because there really is no conflict. Science, when properly defined, cannot determine the origin of the universe. But science is a very useful and necessary tool for understanding this universe in which we live. Origins, on the other hand, are philosophical/religious concepts. The first chapter deals with this.
And all of this occurs in the midst of titanic struggles that take place as the forces of evil try to destroy the purposes of God. You may be surprised at the magnitude of some of these battles - battles that involve the solar system itself. We are familiar with some of them as they are described in the Bible - the Flood and the Exodus. But much more happened than is recorded in the Bible, and we will look at some extra-biblical records for the bigger picture.
About the Author
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University with honors (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa), University of Pennsylvania Medical School and training in pediatrics and public health, he went to Ethiopia in the 1960s as a missionary. While there in 1969 he read Worlds in Collision by Velikovsky and began an odyssey of study that has not ended to this day. Back in the States, in 1970, he was challenged by a colleague to study the case for creation. At that time a convinced evolutionist, he soon realized that the evidence supported creation and not evolution. His subsequent studies led him into many fields, and this book is the culmination of his thirty-five year odyssey.
