About the Book About the Author Excerpts About the Book
In the year 2028, a series of bizarre thefts plagues the financial giants of corporate Chicago. The thieves leave behind no evidence save the bodies of those who oppose them. Their purpose is unknown, as they leave valuable equipment behind in favor of base metals and other materials. The police find no answers in their search for the murderous criminals, only more questions.
Little do they know that their only hope is an overweight, 17-year-old boy named Michael Lunare. All Mike ever wanted was to live a normal life, but his world is turned upside down when a stranger claiming to be a prophet of God approaches him and reveals the incredible truth: Michael is a werewolf.
Soon Michael finds himself being pulled into a series of events that will test every ounce of his faith and courage. With the strength of the beast within and power granted to him by the Almighty Himself, Michael must confront his demons, become the hero he was meant to be, and ultimately stop the thieves and their mysterious leader from committing a crime more terrible than any he could possibly imagine.
About the Author
Derrick Gaetke was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Raised in the church, he always had a love of fantasy, science fiction, and especially superheroes. As a child he attempted to write his own comic books, but his lack of patience at having to draw everything kept him from ever completing a full story. Finally, he buckled down one day and used the written word to bring Moonclaw to life. He hopes that many more Moonclaw tales will emerge from this first novel, and he has already started on a sequel. He will be graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in May 2006 with, of all things, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre. When not residing at Stevens Point, he lives at home in Wisconsin Rapids with his mom Lynn and their dog Sparki.
